Position Available: Monbulk Christian Fellowship | Lead Minister

A Profile for Prospective Lead Ministers

About Us

Monbulk Christian Fellowship has been serving Monbulk and the surrounding communities for more than 40 years. We are a charismatic Christian church provisionally aligned with Churches of Christ (Vic/Tas).

Our faith and ministry are centred on Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who reveals the Father’s heart to humanity, and the work of the Holy Spirit, who brings the Scriptures alive in our hearts and lives. We embrace contemporary worship and are committed to sharing Christ’s love through practical service and meaningful engagement with our local community.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a part-time Lead Minister, initially for three days per week (Sunday and Wednesday inclusive), who has a clear sense of God’s calling to pastoral ministry and demonstrated leadership experience. Experience in an associate ministry role, particularly within a growing local church, would be highly regarded.

The successful applicant will be passionate about Jesus Christ and His mission for the Church, with a commitment to spiritual growth, pastoral care, discipleship and the development of the congregation. Applicants should hold either a Bachelor of Ministry degree or have commenced an equivalent level of theological training.

Our Facilities and Community Presence

We are blessed with a two-acre property that provides a valuable base for both our church life and community engagement. Our facilities include a 300-seat auditorium, dedicated church office spaces, a large adjoining multipurpose area suitable for children’s and youth activities, and a café area with a commercial kitchen.

These facilities serve not only as a place for corporate worship and fellowship but also as a practical resource through which we can connect with, support and serve the wider community.

The Monbulk Community

Monbulk and its surrounding areas are home to a vibrant mix of younger and older families. The community is supported by a diverse range of small businesses along Main Street, together with the region’s established farming and flower-growing industries.

Local amenities include two primary schools, a secondary college and two supermarkets, alongside a range of sporting and recreational opportunities. Together, these contribute to the character and vitality of the area and provide meaningful opportunities for the church to build relationships and serve the community.

The Person We Are Seeking

The successful candidate will be able to work collaboratively with the existing Eldership team, serving as first among equals and contributing to a shared approach to spiritual leadership, discernment and governance.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Demonstrates a clear Christian faith and a genuine calling to pastoral ministry.
  • Brings proven leadership experience and a passion for the mission of the local church.
  • Can inspire, equip and encourage members of the congregation to recognise and develop their God-given gifts.
  • Values collaborative leadership and works effectively with the existing Eldership team and Board.
  • Can build appropriate relationships with community leaders and organisations, representing the church with integrity and sensitivity.
  • Is an endorsed Churches of Christ minister or is willing to seek endorsement.
  • Holds a current Working with Children Check.
  • Is an Australian citizen or a permanent resident of Australia.

Above all, we seek a leader who will work alongside our congregation and Eldership team and Board to strengthen the church, nurture spiritual maturity and extend Christ’s love throughout Monbulk and its surrounding communities.

Expressions of Interest

Applicants are invited to submit their expression of interest, including details of their ministry experience, theological training and leadership background, together with the names and contact details of three referees who can speak to their character, church experience and leadership capabilities.

Please address applications by Wednesday December 2nd to:
