Steeple is a fairly young church, with a long history, that was birthed out of a small group of people with a big desire to see the community outside the four walls of the building encounter, engage with and be(come) transformed by the love of Jesus.
Since its inception in 2017, Steeple Church has continued to experience significant numeric and spiritual growth, as their identity, collective purpose and culture has shaped and continues to gain momentum.
As part of this vision an opportunity is available for a Generations Ministry Director to join a passionate and growing team, who value collaboration support and healthy ministry expression.

About the position
This role is a 0.4 FTE initially and is focused on serving, oversight and pastoral leadership of our Childrens Ministries.
The aim is to continue to grow a vibrant culture that reflects the broader vision of the church, cultivating an atmosphere of welcoming participation by fostering environments where young people learn they are loved by Jesus, to go and be love, expressed through warm engagement and hospitality to each other, and to our local communities.
The position will be based out of our newly opened, redeveloped ministry centre.
Key Areas of responsibility include:
- Overall supervision and direction of all aspects of Childrens – with a focus on spiritual formation and fostering inclusive culture
- Pastoral oversight of leaders and volunteers which aims to nurture personal growth in their leadership and discipleship
- Creating meaningful connections with parents and kids through effective, warm communication and periodic events
- Administration that facilitates competent delivery and execution of strategy
About the person
The person we are looking for will have an obvious passion and strong sense of calling to follow Jesus and serve others in this type of ministry. They will be self-starters, with previous experience in leading and building teams through a coaching and pastoral approach. This role requires a person who is able to work autonomously, and collaboratively as part of a leadership team to plan and execute programs and events that fulfill the mission and vision of Steeple Church.
Experience and Qualifications
The successful candidate must have…
- Some demonstrated history and experience in similar roles.
- Some training and/or suitable qualifications.
- An up-to-date Working With Children’s Check.
Other skills and experiences desirable include:
- Experience with Children’s, Family ministry.
- Familiarity with a missional, charismatic and justice framework for church.
